Frequently Asked Questions
How could my baby benefit?
1
If feeding feels uncomfortable, stressful, or difficult, support can help you better understand what’s happening and identify practical next steps. Whether you have concerns about latch, bottle feeding, milk supply, tethered oral tissues, starting solids, or weaning, we’ll work toward your family’s feeding goals together.
What makes Groove & Grow different?
2
My combined background as a speech-language pathologist and certified lactation counselor brings feeding skills and lactation support together. I consider how your baby’s movement, positioning, regulation, oral-motor skills, digestion, and comfort affect feeding — and build a plan that fits your family’s everyday life.
Why private pay?
3
Private pay allows us to plan care around your family’s needs and goals, without insurance authorization requirements, coverage limits, or time determining our visits. This makes your support more extensive and individualized. At this time, Groove & Grow does not bill insurance; you’ll receive pricing before scheduling so you can make an informed decision. A Superbill is available upon request for you to submit to your insurance company for possible network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
How can I prepare for my first visit?
4
Complete your intake forms before the visit and have your usual feeding supplies nearby — breast, bottle, breast pump and flanges if used, pacifiers, or familiar foods and utensils for children eating solids. Any relevant medical records or previous feeding recommendations is helpful. We will need a spot to practice tummy time, conduct an oral examination, and feed your little one.
We will aim to observe a typical feeding in your child’s natural environment. Feed your baby as needed rather than delaying a feed for the appointment. There is no need to clean or prepare a special space — I want to see what feeding looks like in your everyday routine!
